How does an RFP award become a signed contract without retyping?

What is source to contract?

Source to contract is the front half of procurement, from the sourcing request through supplier selection, negotiation and award to the signed contract, and it is where a purchase's supplier, price and terms are decided.

It is also where those terms most often go missing. The RFP is awarded in a sourcing tool, the contract is drafted from scratch in a contract lifecycle management platform, and the negotiated discounts and service levels are retyped in between. RFPflow and Contractflow share one record, so the award carries its terms into the draft and the evaluation stays attached for whoever renews the contract later.

What is the difference between source to contract and source to pay?
