Source to contract is the front half of procurement, from the sourcing request through supplier selection, negotiation and award to the signed contract, and it is where a purchase's supplier, price and terms are decided. It is also where those terms most often go missing. The RFP is awarded in a sourcing tool, the contract is drafted from scratch in a contract lifecycle management platform, and the negotiated discounts and service levels are retyped in between.
