A request for supplier qualification (RFSQ) gathers suppliers' credentials and competences to find who is qualified, or to narrow the field for a specific need. ## How it works The buyer asks suppliers for evidence of their competence and credentials against set requirements. Suppliers that meet them are qualified, either to join a pool the buyer can draw on later or to go forward to a request for proposal or tender for an immediate need. ## What it typically asks for - Legal and financial standing. - Relevant experience and references. - Certifications, licenses and insurance. - Security, safety and quality practices. - Capacity to deliver at the required scale. ## Why it matters Qualifying suppliers first means the detailed proposal stage only includes suppliers that could actually win. That saves effort for everyone, keeps evaluation focused and reduces the risk of awarding to a supplier that cannot deliver. ## How Aavenir handles it [RFPflow](https://aavenir.com/solutions/rfp-management-software/) runs qualification rounds with pass or fail and scored criteria, then moves qualified suppliers into the next event.
