# What is reporting in procurement?

Reporting presents information in an organized format for a specific audience and purpose. In procurement, it shows spend, suppliers, requisitions, orders, invoices and contracts and how they relate.

## What procure to pay reporting shows

Reporting draws on the documents that procurement and accounts payable produce and links them, so a reader can follow a purchase from request to payment. It typically covers:

- **Requisitions.**active and completed.

- **Approvals.**pending, approved and rejected.

- **Purchase orders.**open commitments and status.

- **Invoices.**received, matched, on hold and paid.
