# What is financial savings management?

Financial savings management in procurement covers estimating savings from sourcing plans, projecting them into the budget and tracking what is actually realized, so spend stays under control.

## What it covers

It links procurement work to the finance plan. Expected savings are estimated from the sourcing pipeline, built into budgets, and then tracked as contracts are signed and spend flows through them. The result is a clear picture of savings by function, category and project.
