# Aavenir unveils Avy, the generative AI assistant for connected contract management

## The announcement

McKinney, Texas, January 30, 2024. Aavenir announced the launch of Avy, a generative AI assistant for legal and procurement teams working on ServiceNow. Aavenir AI runs on Aavenir's own large language model, built on an open source model and trained on thousands of contracts.
The aim was simple: help teams understand contracts faster, read clauses with confidence and get answers without searching through long documents.

## What Aavenir AI does

- **Suggests safer clause language.**Based on a summary of how a clause deviates from your standard, Aavenir AI proposes safer wording and points out potential risks, which speeds up negotiation.

- **Answers questions about a contract.**Legal and business users can ask questions such as “Is this contract HIPAA compliant?” or “Can we terminate this contract immediately?” and find hidden obligations quickly.

- **Explains clauses in plain English.**Aavenir AI turns dense, verbose clause language into wording that people outside legal can follow.
